Do I need a Certificate of Insurance (COI) for my Queens building?
Most Queens apartment buildings, co-ops, and condos require a COI before movers can enter. Serenity Movers provides a COI with every move at no extra charge, sent directly to your building management within 24 hours of booking. Single-family and attached home moves typically do not require one.
Are my belongings insured during a Queens move?
Yes. Serenity Movers carries $5M liability coverage. Two coverage types are available:
- Released value protection — $0.60 per lb per item (federal minimum). Included free.
- Full value protection — Repair, replacement, or cash settlement at market value. Available for an additional premium.

What items won’t you move?
As required by DOT regulations, movers cannot transport:
- Hazardous materials: propane tanks, paint, chemicals, gasoline, ammunition
- Perishables: open food, plants (long-distance moves), live animals
- Irreplaceable valuables: cash, jewelry, important documents — carry these yourself
