Professional packers can move quickly and may pack ordinary items unless you clearly separate trash, donations, personal essentials and anything that should stay behind. Create a visible do-not-pack zone before they arrive.
Plastic can help during transport, but long-term storage needs moisture control. Do not seal damp upholstery inside airtight plastic. Use clean, dry protection and follow the storage facility’s guidance for the unit conditions.

Cardboard moving boxes are usually the easiest option for professional movers because they stack predictably and come in standard sizes. Heavy-duty rental moving crates can also work well. Household storage totes are usable, but oversized or flexible-lid bins can be harder to stack safely.
